Williams Encourages Residents to Spend Local, Shop Safe, & Support the Less Fortunate this Yuletide
Mid & East Antrim Councillor, Alderman Noel Williams, is encouraging people in Carrickfergus to spend local, shop safe, and support those less fortunate over Yuletide.
Mr Williams said: “It all starts on Saturday the 20th of November with the Civic Church Service followed by the Big Switch On in the town centre as the town lights up for Christmas.
“There will be all sorts of events throughout the day from 2:00 right up until the Fireworks from Fisherman’s Quay at 5:45.
“Everything from Children’s fun fair, toast your own marshmallows, street animation, face painting, Christmas carnival games and balloon modelling. You can even meet the Reindeer between 3:00 and 5:00.”
Alderman Williams concluded: “The theme this year is 'A Season to Celebrate', but I would encourage everyone to act in a safe manner when celebrating, particularly when in or close to a crowd. It is important to celebrate safely as well as shop safely, also to shop local and, if able, then think of those less fortunate and contribute where you can.”
