Translink Urges Public to Only Make Essential Journeys this St. Patrick’s Day

Translink is reiterating its call for people not to use buses and trains for St. Patrick’s Day travel unless their journey is essential.

Translink is currently operating reduced frequency bus and train timetables because of the current lockdown restrictions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Translink’s Director of Service Operations Ian Campbell said: “Our current timetable is designed to serve those making essential journeys rather than leisure travel.

“We must each play our part in keeping ourselves and others safe and slowing the transmission of COVID-19.

“Ulsterbus, Metro/Glider and Goldline will operate public holiday timetables on St. Patrick’s Day. NI Railways and Enterprise services will operate their current reduced timetables”.

“We would once again urge passengers who must travel, to wear a face covering (unless exempt), observe good hand hygiene, follow social distancing measures and use cashless payment options where possible”.
