Reacting to the DUP’s decision last week to stand down the First Minister, Alliance Leader, Naomi Long MLA, has said: “As people face a deepening cost of living crisis, some of the longest hospital waiting lists in western Europe, and as public services - from schools to infrastructure - groan under the pressure of ten years of austerity and two years of a pandemic, the DUP has decided now is the time to destabilise things further.
“This constant addiction to disruption and blatant disregard for the public’s priorities cannot go unchallenged.
“The DUP this week said: ‘Enough is enough’. I agree – enough of their infighting holding us back; enough of their cynical electioneering dressed up as being in Northern Ireland’s interests; and enough of their callous and calculated disregard for people’s lives and livelihoods.
“While the DUP focus on division and disruption, Alliance is focused on delivery.
“Just imagine what a larger Alliance team at the Assembly can deliver for you, your family, your community. For everyone”.
