The Carrickfergus Men’s Shed is open to new members!
Men’s Sheds are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections, sharing skills and knowledge, and friendship building.
The Carrickfergus Men’s Shed offers a place where men can gather to advance their health and well-being through companionship and creative activities. The shed provides a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment, and offers activities such as art, woodworking, wood turning, pen making, picture framing, and many more besides.
East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, said: “The Carrickfergus Men’s Shed is an excellent initiative, offering friendship and a welcoming base for locals. If you’re interested in joining, simply contact the organisers, or pop in to say hello and find out more”.
The Men’s Shed is open Monday to Friday, 10am to approx. 12:30pm at 1 Shaftsbury Drive.
New and former members aged 18+ are all welcome.
