Stewart Asks the First Minister Follow-on Questions from the Mother-and-Baby Report
Following the publication of the mother-and-baby report last week, Stewart asked the First Minister how records and archives in the Republic of Ireland will be accessed where cross-boarder adoptions are concerned. He also enquired as to whether the First Minister's statement on the preservation of records from now on, is an instruction or a request.
The First Minister responded that there is ongoing dialogue and cooperation between the Office for the First Minister and Deputy First Minister, and their counterparts in the Republic, as well as with the relevant Church bodies and other institutions. On the preservation of records, this is an instruction and the Minister will make this clear to the relevant organisations.
