Rail Disruption between Carrickfergus and Larne

***Line closure between Carrickfergus and Larne Harbour during the weekend of Friday 5th - Monday 8th March***

Translink is in the process of carrying out essential repair work on a number of culverts across the NI Railways network in order to reduce the risk of flooding during periods of heavy rainfall and thus ensure the safety of the network.

Bus substitutions will be in place between Carrickfergus and Larne Harbour throughout the weekend; passengers undertaking essential travel are asked to plan their journeys in advance and to allow extra time for their journey. The train timetable will operate as normal between Great Victoria Street and Carrickfergus throughout.

Work during the weekend closures will be undertaken during both daytime and night-time hours. Every effort will be made to keep any noise and disruption to a minimum at all times; work will also be carried out according to current government and industry guidance on social distancing to ensure the protection of staff and the community.
