Minister's Answer

Construction of the 15 storey Tower Block at the Belfast City Hospital commenced in the 1970s with the Tower Block opening on 6th January 1986. The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust have submitted a proposal to carry out refurbishment of the Belfast City Hospital Tower Block and to date funding of £6.4m has been provided to the Trust. Funding will continue to be provided to the Trust on an ongoing annual basis.
