Whilst commercial sunbed bans have been introduced in some countries including Australia and Brazil, UK and European jurisdictions have typically introduced age restrictions and other regulatory measures in relation to their use. The Skin Cancer Prevention Strategy steering group frequently engage with other jurisdictions in relation to best practice and the Department continues to work with partner organisations, including the Public Health Agency, District Councils and Cancer Focus NI, to reduce sunbed use and raise awareness of the harms they cause.
