NIPSO Own Initiative PIP Report

Margaret Kelly, Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO), has published her Own Initiative investigation report on the Department for Communities administration of Personal Independence Payments (PIP).

The investigation focused on how the Department, and Capita, value and use further evidence within both the PIP decision making process and complaints handling. The Ombudsman has made a finding of systemic maladministration and has made a number of recommendations for improvement.
