Marking five years cancer free

Today I celebrate a personal milestone, I am five years cancer free. I was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer on the 11th July 2019 and following a successful esophagectomy on the 9th December 2019, I am now a survivor of one of the six less survivable cancers in the world.

Oesophageal cancer, like many other cancers does not discriminate between age or sex and knowing and recognising the signs and symptoms are crucial to early diagnosis.

If you suffer from any of the following symptoms for longer than 3 weeks you should consult your doctor.

Persistent Indigestion, Difficulty swallowing or food sticking, Heartburn acid reflux, Hiccupping that won’t go away, Unexplained weight loss.
