Dickson Welcomes McDonald’s ’30 Parks in 30 Days’ Litter-Picking Initiative
East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed McDonald’s litter-picking initiative, to mark the chain being operational in Northern Ireland for 30 consecutive years.
Mr Dickson said: “We all know McDonald’s to be a handy spot for a quick bite, perhaps for convenience or as a treat for the family. However, the chain has been engaged in some excellent environmental work as well.
“McDonald’s staff collect 27 tonnes of litter every year on litter patrols that take place around every restaurant three times a day.
“In celebration of its establishment in Northern Ireland 30 years ago, McDonald’s staff have organised 30 litter pick-ups in 30 local parks over the 30 days of June”.
Mr Dickson concluded by saying: “There will be a litter pick-up on Drains Bay Beach in Larne, on Tuesday 28th June at 11:00am. I encourage anyone who might be free to come down and give them a hand!”
