Dickson Welcomes Major Covid-19 Restrictions Easing

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed a major reopening of the Northern Ireland economy on 30 April.

Following a four-month closure due to Covid-19 restrictions, outdoors hospitality, non-essential retail, gyms and swimming pools can also now open.

Mr Dickson commented: “It has been a seriously challenging few months for businesses unable to trade, and of course for everyone in Northern Ireland needing to stay at home to reduce Covid-19 infections. So it is welcome that we have now reached the point where many businesses can reopen, and customers can return.

Mr Dickson concluded: “I wish retailers the best of luck for a safe and successful reopening this bank holiday weekend, and I am hopeful that with the progress we see against Covid-19, this summer will be much better than last.”
