Dickson Welcomes Additional Funding Support for Social Enterprises

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed additional money to support social enterprises during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

In response to a written question, the Communities Minister confirmed to Mr Dickson that an additional £2.25m was approved by the Executive to fund all applicants to the Covid Social Enterprise Fund.

Mr Dickson commented: “Social Enterprises, like many of our local businesses, have had a difficult year, made more challenging by the delay in providing support to the sector. I am happy to see that the Executive has allocated additional funds to ensure that all applicants can be supported.

“I also welcome the recently launched Voluntary, Community and Social Economy Sector (VCSE) Covid Recovery Fund, which provides grants to support the purchase of PPE and IT to allow for the safe delivery of services.”
