Dickson Looks Forward to a New Energy Strategy Being Brought to the Executive for Approval

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed the intentions of the Minister for the Economy to bring a new Energy Strategy for Northern Ireland to the Executive for approval prior to COP26.

Mr Dickson said: “I asked the Minister for an update on the development of an Energy Strategy and was glad to hear that despite the revolving ministerial door in the Department for the Economy, a strategy is in fact in development and on track to be brought for consideration before 1st November when COP26 officially kicks off.

“I was also reassured to hear that the strategy is largely based on consultation responses to the Energy Strategy Policy Options Consultation paper, published in March 2021. I believe the paper received 283 responses which is testament to the hard work and diligence of the departmental officials in ensuring extensive engagement with interested parties”.
