Councillor Noel Williams Has Replaced Bollards in Greenisland to Prevent a Vehicle ‘Rat Run’

Alliance Cllr Noel Williams has successfully had bollards replaced to prevent a vehicle ‘Rat Run’ in Greenisland.

He said: “A developer working between The Cairn and Downview had failed to replace several bollards at the walkway in Greenisland, which had been temporarily removed to facilitate construction work in the area.

“Inconsiderate motorists were quick to start using the walkway as a vehicle shortcut which was a clear safety hazard, and ruined the aesthetic of the green walkway.

“Having been alerted by local constituents, I was able to nip the problem in the bud, have the bollards reinstated, and keep the walkway for just that – walking”.
