Question: To ask the Minister for the Economy what work has been undertaken in regards to a replacement for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme.

Answer: My Department is currently developing a new Energy Strategy. Following the Call for Evidence in December 2019, officials have examined consultation responses, carried out research and are considering potential policy options to enable us to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. A draft Energy Strategy policy options consultation will issue next month, with a final Energy Strategy due to be published by November 2021. Financial support to encourage the installation and use of lower carbon heating appliances is being considered as part of the new Energy Strategy development process.
